Continue to Azrou, nestled in the heart of the cedar forests, where you might spot Barbary macaques playing in the trees. After lunch in a local restaurant, we’ll journey deeper into the mountains to discover the beautiful Ouiane Lake, a tranquil spot surrounded by forests and mountains. We’ll continue our drive through picturesque landscapes to reach the mountain village of Arogou, where you’ll check into your traditional guesthouse. Enjoy a home-cooked Berber dinner and experience the warm hospitality of your hosts. Overnight in Arogou.
After breakfast at your guesthouse, we’ll embark on a full day of exploration. Our first stop is the stunning Aguelmam Azegza Lake, known as the “Blue Lake” for its remarkable turquoise waters surrounded by cedar forests. Enjoy a peaceful walk around the lake and take in the breathtaking scenery. We’ll then continue to Tiglmamin Lake, another beautiful mountain lake offering spectacular views. Enjoy a picnic lunch in this pristine natural setting. In the afternoon, we’ll drive through dramatic high-altitude plateaus to reach the legendary town of Imilchil, famous for its annual marriage festival. In the evening, enjoy another delicious traditional dinner and perhaps listen to local stories and legends. Overnight in Imilchil.
After breakfast, we’ll visit the mythical lakes of Tisli and Isli, which according to local legend represent two star-crossed lovers from rival tribes. These stunning lakes are set in a dramatic landscape and offer incredible photo opportunities. Learn about the romantic legend that gives these lakes their names. We’ll then begin our journey back to Fes, stopping in Midelt for lunch (not included). Midelt is known as the “apple capital” of Morocco, nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains.
